Safety. Quality. Reliability. These are the three main values of Trans- Global Solutions, Inc.( TGS), an innovative company that provides transportation, comprehensive railroad and heavy civil construction services.

Located in Texas, the company has two sites – one in Beaumont and one in Baytown- and delivers site development for both private and public sector clients. TGS specializes in all aspects of railroad construction, earthwork, and infrastructure for municipalities, utilities and industrial-petrochemical facilities.
In 1975, William F.‘ Bill’ Scott set up his own rail maintenance business in Port Arthur, Texas, alongside his brother, Dick. Bill had worked at a railroad construction and engineering business during his college years, so following his graduation, the brothers decided to start their own company, Econo-Rail Corporation. Beginning with just $ 3500 and a pick-up truck to their name, the brothers built a reputation for safe work practices, reliability, and quality workmanship. Econo-Rail moved into its first official headquarters on 9th Avenue in Port Arthur in 1979 and the business expanded naturally by responding to and meeting the increasing demands of clients. This meant the company eventually began adding to its list of services, and before long, this growth led to international expansion partnerships with Mitsubishi and Cementos Mexicanos.
At this point, Econo-Rail Corporation outgrew its name and became Trans-Global Solutions, Inc., with its full-service rail division becoming known as TGS. Kinder Morgan Energy Partners( KMP) purchased TGS’ bulk terminal handling assets in 2005 and began to develop new bulk terminal assets along the Gulf Coast. Since then, TGS has continued to thrive and capitalize on new opportunities in the rail industry.
In fact, TGS has an exciting new development coming in 2026. Independence Rail Terminal in Deer Park, Texas will offer 650 rail spots and transloading options for TGS clients to store cars and will provide unmatched connectivity in the Houston region. The new terminal has direct proximity to the Houston Ship Channel, which is a prime location for the company as it ensures faster rail service, efficient supply chain solutions, and greater flexibility for industries moving goods across Texas and beyond. Independence Rail Terminal will be a welcome addition to TGS’ range of services and facilities that are already well-established.
