Renowned across the UK and Europe for exceptional reliability and professionalism, Joda Freight( Joda) is the haulage and logistics company with a difference. Where others may flounder at difficult or awkward jobs, clients can trust Joda to rise to the challenge every single time, knowing that the job will be delivered with outstanding customer service and the highest levels of efficiency and care.

Joda’ s journey began over 35 years ago as a start-up, founded by John Collett and Dave Wareing. The business started out small, with one 3.5 ton vehicle and a single client, but soon saw a stream of rapid, sustained growth. In 2023, Joda underwent a management buyout as John and Dave retired, and the company was purchased by Kieron Talbot-Sykes and Neil Tullett, marking a new chapter in the company’ s story. The pair have been running the business ever since, and today, Joda encompasses a fleet of 65 vehicles across four warehouses.
In 2025, Joda is greater than ever, maintaining its stellar reputation as it proceeds to prove why it’ s the logistics provider of choice for so many. Transportation & Logistics International is joined by Kieron Talbot-Sykes, who shares insight into what makes Joda so special, as well as what lies ahead on its continuing growth trajectory. Kieron begins by introducing Joda’ s comprehensive scope of capabilities.
“ We’ ve tried to make sure that we’ re not just a run-of-the-mill general haulage company,” he says.“ We’ ve got a fleet of 24 Moffett trucks and we’ re adding another four later this year. We offer Hiab services, run low loaders in STGO vehicles so that we can pull heavy, out-of-gauge pieces of equipment, and carry out container work. We want to be the company that people go to when they’ ve got something unusual to transport and no one else wants to deal with it.”
Over the years, this has been the differentiation between Joda and its competitors and has assisted in spearheading further growth for the business. In particular, its large fleet of Moffett trucks has allowed the company to broaden its scope of opportunity and take on a plethora of exciting projects across new horizons.
“ Our self-lift capability makes us stand out amongst our competitors. A lot of companies claim that they‘ never say no’, but then when someone comes to them with something
... we supported the Paris Olympics because they needed someone with Moffett capability on an international scale challenging, they haven’ t got the capability. When somebody comes to us with a challenge and we don’ t have that capability, we go and figure out how to do it to get the project over the line. We hope that this will help drive more business from, not only the customer at hand, but other customers who will see that we’ ve got these specialist capabilities and equipment,” Kieron explains.
“ A lot of companies run Moffetts, but there aren’ t many who do so on the same scale as us, with 24 trucks. It gives us a huge capability; we can operate both nationwide and internationally. Last year, for instance, we supported the Paris Olympics because they needed someone with Moffett capability on an international scale. There are not many companies able to offer that service as Moffetts are few and far between on the continent. We don’ t necessarily have a USP, but we’ ve definitely got a niche within our market.”
With the demand for its services growing year on year, Joda has been focusing on
