The company has also engineered a creative logistics model that allows many of its long-haul drivers to return home daily. From vision to velocity
Spartan’ s rapid growth is the product of clear vision and bold leadership. Founder Carlos M. Llanes Jr., a US military veteran and seasoned logistics executive, launched the company after resigning from a corporate role during the Covid-19 pandemic. At the time, his former employer chose to shutter operations and furlough its workforce.
“ Carlos believed there was a more purposeful path, one grounded in service and resilience,” Bobby shares.“ He suggested shifting the company’ s focus to hauling essential goods during the pandemic. Although the proposal wasn’ t embraced at the time, Carlos remained committed to his convictions. On July 4th, in a moment that spoke to his deep sense of patriotism and purpose, he chose to part ways and launch Spartan.”
That decision would mark the beginning of a remarkable journey. Carlos brings a rare combination of strategic foresight, marketing savvy, and steadfast faith to his leadership. His thoughtful approach, even drawing wisdom from his study of the Bible, has influenced how Spartan is structured and led. These principles have helped the company quickly earn respect within the logistics sector.
